Hi there!
I'm Amanda and this blog is my official learning log to be kept for my OCA course 'Photography 1: Digital Photographic Practice'.
I have been a student at the OCA since early 2011 and have completed the first course of the BA hons Photography Degree, which was 'Photography 1: Art of Photography' ( my learning log for that course can be found at http://akingston-lynch.blogspot.com/ ).

I have always loved taking pictures to document certain times and memories but only started to take photography seriously since 2009. I decided to enroll with the OCA to learn more about photography as a whole and to understand the technical side as opposed to just pointing and shooting.

I am a big fan of Black and White photography and my favourite photographer is Michael Kenna. I find his work so striking and I am fascinated by his landscape images.

If you happen to view any of my work, you will see it copyrighted to AlCallow. I use my maiden name for any images I take as I have done this ever since I started getting serious about photography.

I will be documenting all my thoughts and research as well as all exercise and assignments in this blog, to document my progression through this course. I will also include links to work that inspires me and any other blogs that I am following.
